Submitting to the #FlashFicFeb Collection

It's February 29th and we've come to the end of our month-long challenge! How did it go for you? My hope is that, at the very least, this helped you get into a habit of writing a few words every day without feeling pressured or overwhelmed at tackling a big project.

What next?

If you have stories you want to share, I encourage you to share them with your friends and family! Posting your booklet on social media is a great way to do this, or you can make cool graphics that highlight some of your favorite lines (contributor @HeyDoryen used this strategy very well during the month; check out their Twitter feed). Use hashtags #FlashFicFeb and #CreateItForward so I can reshare your creations on the Scribemind social media accounts.

Additionally, I'm compiling a collection of your contributions to publish to DriveThruFiction.com as a digital download. Contributing to this is totally optional and is just a way for me to celebrate your work as a community (you may know already that I have a passion for anthologies). Here's how to submit:

  • Create a publisher account on DriveThruFiction.com. You'll first need to make a regular account and then go here to apply for a publisher account. I'd recommend doing this sooner than later because it sometimes takes a day or so to get approved. I'll need the email address you use for your DTFiction account to allocate your royalties. :)

  • Select one to three of your favorite flash fiction pieces from the month.

  • Fill out this form to submit your pieces (NOTE: You'll be prompted to sign into your Google account because the form has a file upload field. If this is a problem for you, email me directly: ashley@scribemind.com): https://forms.gle/Ed4K1eAE4K8NMAaWA

  • Submit by March 10, 11:59 p.m PT, to be included.

I plan to charge $1.99-$2.99 for this collection depending on how many submissions we get, and everyone who contributes gets an equal share of the revenue. If you've never published to a DriveThru site before, any money you make from a project is sent straight to your DriveThru account. You'll never receive funds directly from me. Once the collection is complete and published, I'll send everyone a complimentary copy.

Thanks for going on this writing journey with me! It's been wonderful getting to know you and write alongside you.

Since many of you have asked, the next Scribemind challenge will be in April and it's all about poetry to celebrate National Poetry Month! I'll send you all an email when registration opens for that in mid-March. :)

If you've enjoyed #FlashFicFeb, I appreciate your kind words on social media. You can also help me plan future challenges by becoming a part of my Patreon. My patrons help make these challenges possible. Together we can make storytelling fun and approachable to everyone!
